Is there a more authentic way to experience Italy than in a country home, surrounded by olive trees and wineries? I don’t think so.
We stayed at a beautiful home via Wimdu, just outside the quaint little village of Alghero. #BeLocal gets a whole new meaning here. My favourite moments in Alghero were our daily sunset bike rides to town to have dinner. With the sky turning orange, wind in my hair and a faraway view on sea: the ultimate freedom feeling!
When we weren’t having dinner out in town, we bought up a bunch of delicious ingredients at the local deli for the best pasta. I love this outdoor life in Italy, where you can just sit on the porch the entire evening. Surrounding yourself with good food and wine, watching the stars and enjoying the silence. Am I getting old? Well, I guess it’s all about balance. The peace and quiet is essential in order to enjoy the chaos.
