2014 in Outfits

Welcome to the big 2014 outfit recap. In this post I’m sharing what I’ve been wearing throughout the year, with easy to shop links and some fun behind the scenes facts. I’m looking forward to hear what your favourite looks are!

Always doing everything last moment, I suddenly found myself sitting behind my laptop a few days before New Year, wondering what kind of recap themed post I should do on FashionContainer this time. The truth is that I’ve done so many things this year that I’m incredibly proud of, that I simply couldn’t work it out to fit it all in one post. That said, you can expect two other recap themed posts coming up. One of them is going to be a very personal post talking about how I really feel about 2014 (hint: it’s not going to be your happy moments kinda post) and the other recap will be about my personal favourite posts/highlights, because I feel that some of the content that I’m really proud to have created, deserve some extra exposure.

Outfit wise, this was without a doubt the year of 3.1 Phillip Lim (my 24th birthday present, remember?), ripped jeans, biker jackets and the colour blue. But since I always seems to gravitate towards blue hues, you’ll probably be seeing it around here on FashionContainer in 2015 too.

One of my personal favourite outfits in this overview is the one with the cobalt scuba skirt. I just love the look of a casual white cable knit paired with a more sophisticated item like the skirt (photo 3). Oh, and non-stop twirling was allowed in this photo shoot. FUN! The second one that I really like and also perfectly embodies what I currently love, is the outfit in which I’m wearing a pair of boyfriend jeans with a white silk shirt tucked in (photo 19). Worn with a kick-ass leopard bag and silver heels, it makes a laid back but fun and edgy look.

Like I’ve mentioned a few times before, outfit shooting definitely isn’t always that fun! Sometimes the light or weather is just not right, forcing us to change locations multiple times in order to find something that works. The hardest outfit to shoot was the one in which I’m wearing a black lace dress (last photo). The weather just couldn’t make up its mind. In less than half an hour we experienced 4 different seasons and the light was changing every few seconds. Luckily we managed to use the rain in our advantage (something I didn’t was possible) and the photos turned out pretty cool in the end.

While browsing through my outfit folders to pick out the photos to be featured in this post, I was surprised to find so many cool shots that I never ended up using. It’s funny how a personal taste, whether that’s fashion or a photography style can change so much over a period of time. I have to admit that seeing photos of myself all the time is a bit weird. Does it sound strange when I say that I get bored of seeing my own face constantly? That’s one of the reasons that in 2015, I’m planning on producing a lot of other content as well. From travel reports and guides (my current obsession!) to more personal posts and blog marketing tips. I’m looking forward to it and I’ll hope you’ll keep following along in 2015 too. Thank you so so much for your support, it really means the world! Keep an eye out meanwhile for 2 more recap posts and I wish you a fantastic 2015.

Ps. Don’t forget to let me know which of these outfits is your favourite!
