Autumn Leaves

In Australia the change in seasons is a subtle one compared to the Northern hemisphere, but you feel and see it nevertheless. Despite it being quite warm and sunny, the streets covered in brown leaves and the cooler nights tells me that Winter is on its way.

Autumn is a relieve when you’re living in Perth, the boiling heat for months in a row isn’t all that fun. On these beautiful cooler days I love to go for a walk and pay a visit to one of the many parks around the city centre of Perth, like the one seen in the pictures with old wooden bridges covered by trees that by the way reminds me of a place in my home town Deventer.

I love tops with a slight loose fit, they’re my first choice to wear with a pencil skirt like this one, creating the perfect balance between dressy and casual. It’s a rule I keep in mind for most of my day time outfits; If the top is body hugging, I usually opt for a skirt with a loose fit and the inverse as seen in this outfit. It all depends on what you’re comfortable with, but this is what I try to keep in mind when putting together a day time look. I wear this asymetric skirt to work quite often, it has the ideal length and style for a corporate environment, yet it’s still a little playful due to the cut-out detail.
