After returning from a holiday, I always find myself wondering: Why can’t this be real life? Thailand was a dream, after three days of vibrant Bangkok we flew down to Phuket.
We arrived to our hotel in Phuket in the early evening and landed in the middle of ‘Loi Krathong’ festivities, which was a total unexpected but such an amazing welcome. In the Western world it’s also known as light festival, the Thai leave floral decorations with candles on the river or ocean and let up lanterns in the sky. With both the ocean and sky full of lights, the atmosphere was mesmerizing. The small streets of Patong were packed, music everywhere, dancing people. It was crazy! To get a glimpse of me letting up my lantern and an attempt to let my decoration float on the ocean, watch the Thailand Video Diary I’ve made.
After a few crazy days, Hassan and I needed some peace an quiet, so the next day we rented a scooter and spend the day beach hopping. The ocean in Thailand is beyond clear and along with the crisp white sand, it looks unreal! Other highlights of our stay in Phuket were a boat trip to Phi Phi island, an elephant tracking in the jungle and meeting tigers. I have to admit I was holding my breath when touching the tiger, but how amazing are they! Beautiful creatures.
Oh, and I bet you’re wondering how I got that massive bruise on my leg? I wish I could tell you a more exciting story, but I simply tripped over a chair in my hotel room in Bangkok.
Amazing holiday, Amazing country. I will definitely go back.
