Wow, I’ve been blogging for exactly a year now. I can remember sitting at the table in my livingroom in Holland, writing my first blog post to introduce myself. I chose the 7th to write my first post, because it’s my lucky number. Guess I wanted to make sure that my personal project, my own blog, would start the best possible way, haha.
For a few years, I’ve been reading blogs everyday. I remember my first blog obsession: Kenza. Ofcourse, who doesn’t read her blog?! I think what attracts me most about following blogs, besides the fashion aspect, is the fact that you can have a little peek in someones life. Because honestely, aren’t we all super curious about how other people live their lives? Once I got familiar with the phenomenon of blogging, I soon started to collect some more favorites. For example, This chick’s got style, Fashionvibe and Angelica Blick.
So a year ago, I finally found the courage to start a blog myself. Let me tell you how I thought about blogging when I first began and what are my thoughts now. In the beginning, to be honest, I thought blogging would be an easy job. That’s the impression you get when looking at other blogs: easy, breezy, beautiful pictures accompanied with a nice story. Shouldn’t be that hard, right? Wrong. The whole process of making a blog post is extremely time consuming. Especially, when you want to create something beautiful that you’re genuinely proud of. Also, your readers don’t magically appear: you have to promote your blog a lot everywhere, to get people to know you. So, a year on, I’ve definitely had a big reality check: blogging isn’t that simple. However, I still love blogging very much and I’m very motivated to improve myself everyday and to expand my audience. It’s going great right now and I hope the coming year is going to be amazing for me and my blog.
To my readers: thank you all for your support! It’s giving me a lot of motivation and positive energy. I hope you’ll continue to accompany me on my fashion journey and if you have any questions or suggestions, let me know.
