Live the G Life!

Step right into a work of art, hello Hotel G. Artsy, original minimalistic yet luxurious; Hotel G brings boutique style in the best possible way.

What’s boutique?

You’ve probably heard the phrasing “boutique hotel” before, but what does this really mean? It basically refers to hotels with a very own style, usually small in size and more often than not situated at a fashionable, urban location. This trend started emerging since the 1980’s, but I feel like it has only become big, hip and happening since a few years. This more personal and unique approach of hotels was an obvious trend to oppose the “one size fits all” approach of many big hotel chains and it so far it seems like this “boutique hotel movement” is here to stay. And how could it not? It’s so cool!

The Inside…

Another day in San Francisco, another hotel! We immediately fell in love with the décor of our room. It actually feels much as if you’ve just moved into your stylish friend’s apartment rather than a hotel room. I have to say it’s a very nice feeling after destination and hotel hopping for a good 20 days. The room is spacey with a desk, large windows, plenty of natural light (a must for me!), the coolest bed and stylish wooden furniture.

Spot on

Do you know that feeling where you get told a certain area is “nearby” the hotel where you’re staying, but before you know it you’re walking half an hour to get there? Hotel G is exactly the opposite of that. It’s literally located on one of the coolest streets in the city, with restaurants, bars and shops just steps away from the front door of the hotel. The famous cable car and union square is just a small stroll away as well, perfect.

Outfit, Ready, Shoot

A hotel room like this asks for an outfit that blends in, right? I’m wearing a navy embellished dress that I borrowed from Tatiane, converse sneakers an pretty much my entire collection of sunglasses all at once. Sort of. Oh, and how revolutionary is my hair? I literally never wear it up. If I’m not wrong this is the first time I wear my hair up like this on the blog. Well, change is good. I by the way absolutely love the furnishing in our room, how cool is the sofa for example? I’m a big fan of the vintage wall paper too!
